You might be extending Meatless Mondays after trying these plant-based deli meats and cheeses.
That’s right, The Herbivorous Butcher is 100% plant based from its Korean BBQ Ribs to its turkey. Anything you can think of they probably got, from jerky to burger patties to pastrami, deli ham, and more. You’ve got two options when it comes to ordering: a la carte or in a deliciously crafted ready-to-go meal, like their Turkey, Dill, Havarti Sandwich or their Italian Cold Cut sandwich.
They’ve also got a wide selection of vegan cheeses made from soy and coconut oil. Their online menu has their daily specials from mozzarella to pepper jack to feta. Just check out this melty cheese. Did we also mention everything is house made?
Herbivorous Butcher started out as a humble stand at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market in 2014 selling vegan renditions of pulled pork, Italian sausage, and other meat-like meat-free food. They eventually got their own brick and mortar just two years later in 2016. After opening up a kickstarter to launch their first storefront, Herbivorous Butcher now sits on 1st Street as your neighborhood butcher. Their range has grown from meatless meats to dairy-free cheeses, vegan spice, rubs, and even sauces, all inspired from what they ate growing up in Guam.
The Herbivorous Butcher has only been around since 2016, but just this year they were able to win a lawsuit against the corporate giant, Nestlé, who was trying to put a trademark on the term “vegan butcher,” but ultimately dropped the case. A big win for small businesses who need to be taken care of now more than ever before. So why not stop in and pick up a vegan sammie for the road?
As of now, they’re doing delivery in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and curbside pick-up, but keep an eye out on their Facebook for any updates.
